    Shirt Logo Embroidery Designs

Silk Screen Printing vs Embroidery Machine Design

Are you a shirt embroidery lover? Perhaps you’re considering purchasing embroidered logo shirts or apparels for your business? Crest, Emblems and embroidered patches are apart of machine embroidery designs.

Embroidery is the art of decorating cloth or fabric and other materials with designs stitched in strands of colored thread using a needle.

Designs and embroidered patterns can be hand-stitched. Sewing machines are used to create machine embroidery. Hand embroidery pattern stitching requires keen eyesight, careful control of the thread, fabric and fingers coupled with imagination and creativity.

It is preferable to use computer controlled embroidery design machines which are used on many type of garment from knit cap to polar fleece. The designs can range from simple to complex. Logo Designs are first converted into professional digitized forms which are inputted to the computer's system.

Great attention is paid to font, outline and artwork size when designing custom embroidered patches or logo rmbrodery.

Here are three types of embroidery designs available on the internet and the consumer’s market:

    1. Shirt and clothing embroidery designs consisting of stitched patterns for embroidered infant wear; children embroidered clothing; men and women fashion embroidery. Business logo embroidery designs are stitched on denim shirts, baseball caps, golf shirts, ladies tops, t-shirts, skirts, jackets, polo shirts, sportswear, trousers and other apparels.

    2. Complex household embroidery patterns are sewn on a wide variety of accessories: bed sheets, blankets, carpets, hand bags, mats, table cloths, towels, hats, handkerchiefs and more…

    3. Consumer products such as hand gloves, leather handbags, shoes, dog collars and other materials can be embroidered with specific designs and patterns.

Embroidery designs can be custom-made or pre-designed, and ordered from the internet. Custom embroidery designs can include other materials such as metal strips, pearls, beads, quills, and sequins.

Silk Screen Printing vs Embroidery Machine Design

Pros and Cons of an Embroidery Logo:

PROS - An embroidery logo has a better business appeal than a silk screen printed logo. A logo embroidery is the most common choice for corporate apparel like golf shirts, denim and oxford shirts. Promotional items like 6-panel caps, knit caps, towels and polar fleece that can't be silk screen printed. It's also more economical for small designs with many colors.

CONS - Embroidery cannot capture fine detail or small letters. Large or complicated designs are expensive.

Pros and Cons of a Silk Screen Printed Logo:

PROS – Silk Screen Printing of a 4 color process gives the illusion of a full color photo. Fine detail and small letters are no problem. Design size doesn't change the cost - makes a great choice for large designs like t-shirts and jackets.

CONS - Silk Screen Designs with 4 or more colors are more expensive, especially on dark colored clothing. You can't screen print on polar fleece, knit caps, 6 panel caps or most towel fabrics.

No matter which type of uniforms, work shirts, or promotional clothing you choose, the intricacy and complexity of a logo embroidered styles and designs will stand out from the printed design, especially when used with the right threads colors and fabric.
