Shirt Ironing "Spray Sizing vs Spray Starch"

Do you hate ironing dress shirt? Do your button down shirt look more wrinkled after you've iron it. Have you tried Spray Sizing vs Spray Starch.

As a part of your dress shirt clothing care, ironing is a chore that most folks try to avoid. Paying the dry cleaner could become an expensive adventure. Sooner or later, you'll have to tackle the task yourself, and when you do, dress shirt ironing can be frustrating.

Pressing a button down shirt don't have to be a mammoth task. Ed Quail's tips and preparing guidelines will make your shirt ironing stepps easy to follow.

Shirt prune to wrinkling like cotton and especially linen should be damped before ironing. Spray dry shirts from tail to collar with water from a bottle, roll each shirt into a tight ball, wrap with a large bath towel and place in a clothes basket for upto 24 hours.

Before you begain, purchase a can of "Spray Sizing" rather than "Spray Starch". "Spray Sizing" works like a quality startch on all clothing fabrics.

The advntages of using "Spray Sizing" are:

    • It makes ironing easier
    • It's perfect for all washed clothing
    • It restore fabric body without stiffness
    • It won't scratch or stick when used the right way
    • It's harmless to all natural, synthetics and blended fabrics
    • and environmentally safe

The disadvantages of using "Spray Starch" are:

    • It clogs fabric and iron pores
    • scrotched starch on shirt surface
    • shirt feels stiff and sticky when worn
    • build up starch residue on iron soleplate
    • sudden unclogged pores spew white minerals
    • clogged iron take longer to press
    • and pull more electric current

Make sure you have your "Spray Sizing", a good steam iron and an ironing board. Another thing, don't iron a shirt that is stained or not properly washed. Ironing a stain may make the stain more permanent.

Use bottled (distilled) water to full the iron reservoir before plugging it in. Although some irons use tap water, in the long run it's still best to use distilled water to avoid rapid mineral deposit build up from clogging the iron's pores.

Check the shirt fabric label tag inside the shirt collar. Pay attention to the shirt ironing instructions or the shirt fabric label care symbols. If the terry cloth or the padding on the iron board is to thin, spread a large bath towel on top.
